Create a QR code with a transparent background
QR Code • StudioQG supports transparent backgrounds in PNG and SVG exports. The pattern stays the same; only the background rectangle disappears to reveal your design.
On a poster or in a video
On a film poster, a transparent QR reveals the background colour and can open your trailer. In your video editor, place the PNG or SVG on a light, static area of the end card; leave the code visible long enough to scan. Avoid moving images behind the pattern. QR Code • StudioQG exports the code and redirects to your video page; editing and hosting remain in your usual tools.
How do you export it?
In your workspace, open the QR, then Appearance and Classic. Check “Transparent background”, save the design, then download PNG or SVG. Place the file in your layout software. The destination link and pattern are retained.
What background should you use?
Use a plain, light area with strong contrast between the dark pattern and the material. Preserve clear space around the code. A detailed photo, dark gradient or texture can make scanning harder. Transparency does not guarantee scanning on every background.
What should you check before printing?
Check the code in the final layout, at its intended size and on the actual material. Test several phones at the real scanning distance. Starting with Essential, you can add a logo in the centre of the QR, with a white or transparent background. The logo size is limited and function patterns are protected; always test the final printed material.
